Mont Saint-Michel Abbey
At the summit of the rock, the Benedictine Abbey is a masterpiece of medieval architecture. The cloister, hostelry hall, refectory and Gothic “Merveille” bear witness to eight centuries of construction. The view from the ramparts is breathtaking.
The medieval village
The steep alleys of the Mount are lined with half-timbered houses, craft shops, traditional creperies and museums. The Grande Rue, lined with houses from the 15th and 16th centuries, climbs up to the Abbey entrance.
The bay
The bay of Mont Saint-Michel is an exceptional natural site, known for its tides among the largest in Europe. At low tide, it is possible to walk across the sands (accompanied by a bay guide, as an optional extra).
